review 1: First chapter: "Now, as a pastor, I’m not a believer in superstition." Superstition has a negative connotation but if you are a pastor, you believe in the supernatural by definition. It was all downhill from there.Though I try to keep an open mind, I had a really hard time getting through this one because the story was just so unbelievable (not in a good way) and the author's writing style is annoying and repetitive.I do not think I would have read this book on my own volition.
review 2: This book was loaned to me by a friend. I was unfamiliar with the story, and I found it interesting. It offers an explanation for the inexplicable. I do not doubt that the Burpos experienced a spiritual event that transformed their lives. The skeptic in me wonders why the sto... morery conveniently tracks everything they want to believe. Faith is a powerful force, and this book is a powerful example of faith. less
