review 1: A Cold Dark Place is the first book in the Cold Justice series by Toni Anderson. Miss Anderson is a new author for me and absolutely loved this book! The storyline of this book grabs the reader right away - there are FBI/CIA agents on the trail of a serial killer and also the local police trying to solve an 18 year old disappearance of heroine FBI Special Agent Mallory Rooney's sister Payton. Things move very fast in this book and when a hero who is a hot, sexy, and mysterious former CIA assassin Alex Parker - even Mallory loses her focus. This author added several interesting secondary characters and the pace of the story keeps the reader wanting more. So glad that I have already purchased book 2, Cold Pursuit, and pre-ordered book 3, Cold Light of Day. Excellent au... morethor - fantastic book!
review 2: This was a great read. It had plenty of suspense, was well-written and the characters intriguing. Alex was former CIA, now an assassin for the government. Mallory is FBI, on the trail of her twin sister's killer. When their paths cross, the attraction for one another is unmistakable but Alex is harboring secrets and when Mallory finds out it could destroy everything they have together. I love Toni Anderson's writing style, the way she keeps you guessing and the amount of research that obviously goes into her stories. Definitely recommend. less
