review 1: YA. Paranormal. Romance. On her seventeenth birthday - because seventeen is the magic age for YA paranormal romances - Josie suddenly develops superpowers, the use of which gives her headaches, but she does not know what is going on. Enter Reid, incredibly cute guy whose job it is to train her to use her superpowers to be part of the Resistance against the evil Consortium in order to help save all of mankind. Her parents knew about it and were part of it, but of course they never told her. If you like YA paranormal romances then you will enjoy this book. It is well written and fast paced and will keep your interest. I received this book free to review from Netgalley and I look forward to reading the next one in the series.
review 2: Anomaly was a fun teen
... more paranormal read. It's not the best quality writing I've ever come across, but it's easy to read and entertaining, and the paranormal aspect is quite original (though it does require quite some suspension of disbelief). I feel this is a YA book that real young adults will enjoy more than us older YA readers. It has a certain immediacy, and an unashamed corniness at times, that gives it the feel of a teen tv series. One not to be taken seriously, but enjoyed for the lighthearted fun that it is. less
