review 1: Shiya Keith comes from a family of shape-shifter hunters, and she's finally convinced her father that she's ready fo her first solo hunt. She heads to Juneau to confirm that her new online friend, Birk, is really a shape-shifter so that her father's team can come in and kill him. Birk knows who Shiya is and what she's trying to do, but he and his friend Kotori, have their own plan, to use Shiya to lure her family of hunters to their death. No one's plan go's the way the hope it would. From the moment the threesome meet, sparks fly and passion burns bright. This story has you hooked from the first page. It's an erotic fantasy that has action, drama, romance, and hot sex scenes.
review 2: Shiya is on her first job of tracking, luring, and terminating the
... morespecies of shapeshifters in Juneau, Alaska. She meets up with her target a hunky man named Birk and -to her surprise-his friend Kotori for the first time and there is an almost instant attraction between the three. They are both bent on betrayal of the other, but in the end will true love prevail? So the problems I had with the novel is that it was overwhelmed by sex. Now, I don't mind sex scenes in books, but I do not like them to be a good 50% of the novels content. I really couldn't get a feel for the characters or the storyline because there was too much sex and sexual tension in the novel, and not enough dialogue. I also would have loved for there to be more detail on the Native American influences on shape shifting. Lastly I had a huge problem with the execution of some of the sex scenes; for example when he goes through the back door for the first time and she feels pain but then not 20 minutes later he's ramming into her…yeah because I'm sure that's what happens. I had a huge problem with Shiya too as a main character. She didn't hold the hatred for the species as her family did, who were super extreme. She was weak and much to compliant to what her abusive brother. Her family was really just fudged up. There was not much back story on any of them either. The good points of the novel were that, it was about polar bears, it was in Alaska, and the novel was a quick read that had splashes of goodness. less
