review 1: You know how this musical has gotten awesome reviews and a lot of hype?It deserves all of it - and more.If aliens ever invade the planet and need to see one thing that the human race has created, please, show them The Book of Mormon. Parker, Stone and Lopez will completely blow you away with this gem of a musical. Yeah. It may be "controversial", but it is also funny as all hell...so...But, even with all the "Hasa Diga", this managed to be just like a traditional musical. Reading the book, I was reminded of all the great classics, only this managed to be even funnier than anything else I've ever heard of. This musical stole my heart from the very beginning, and I enjoyed the entire ride.
review 2: I probably would have walked out had I seen it, but reading it ... moreallowed me to hurry past the extremely vulgar parts (which were surprisingly agnostic - ie universally offensive to every faith) to get to some pretty good laughs (and memories) of missionary work. It's important to laugh at oneself, and Mormon culture is definitely ripe for the picking. Hopefully one night of entertainment will lead many more to read the actual Book of Mormon, because it is constantly changing my life for the better. less
