review 1: Winter Longing by Tricia Mills is a wonderful story about losing a love and gaining another. Winter Craig has loved her best friend Spencer since she was eight. But when he dies suddenly she doesn't know how to cope. In swoops the mysterious boy from next door who she misjudged greatly. Tricia Mills deserves a two thumbs up for this novel. It is a heart wrenching tale about learning to cope with real life. I cried on more than one occasion while reading this book. I would recommend this book for anyone who needs a good romance novel.
review 2: Sweet story (better than her previous one), and both Spencer and Jesse were obviously great guys + I loved the Alaskan setting, but it was still weird for Winter to have all this ~instant shocky chemistry~ with the latter
... more. I realize the point was "how soon is too soon to move on," but Spencer was built up so well in tiny flashbacks that I actually believed she'd loved him for years, so no matter how gentle and comforting he is, Dude Next Door shouldn't be stirring up funny feelings within a couple of weeks unless you work harder to tell me it's because she's using him as a surrogate Spencer. Still, a pretty good meat-and-potatoes staple as teen romance goes. Read it when you want to feel like you're falling in love. less
