review 1: Hello Good Readers!Let me start by saying, I read this book because it was recommended after reading Kelly Jamieson's Rule of Three series. Plus the reviews suggested it was every bit as emotion filled rather than just sex. The good? The sex was pretty darned hot *fans self* My husband certainly 'enjoyed' this book if you know what I mean ;) Also, there was definitely more emotional and family ties in this book than most menage novels, so that was great. I really enjoyed the family element. Connor's Gaelic ramblings well... nuff said! Mmmm mmm mmm. Rick and Connor were a lovable, sexy duo, Calleigh and her sons were pretty cute too but my favourite character was actually her mum. Lily was supportive, funny, pushy, protective... all the good stuff a mum should be without be... moreing too much of an unbelievable goody-two-shoes kind of character. And she didn't even appear a whole lot in the book! The bad?I needed more character development. Calleigh comes off as a bit of a Mary Sue sometimes for me. In fact, the three of them can do no wrong it seems. Perhaps this was just a by-product of it being a short book but at £3 for the pleasure, I'd like a bit more please. Susan flips on a dime and is pure evil but apart from her and Miles, the wanna-be, everyone else seems to completely accept their relationship. So I guess in summary...I was hoping for more in depth characters like Reward of Three's Cass, Dag & Chris and therein lies the rub. With those expectations I suppose I was bound to be disappointed. I needed to get to know my characters more, I needed to think along with them, and feel along with them (though I certainly felt the sex!) But most of all, if the drawbacks of suddenly being in a threesome were going to be largely ignored to focus on mainly one plot bunny then I needed the writing to be good enough to totally suspend my disbelief and for me, it just didn't. Not a bad book, but not up there as one of my greatest reads either.
review 2: WOW! This was the first time I've read about kids involved in a relationship. I really enjoyed this one - it wasn't all about the sex, but it about friendship and love, and total misunderstanding people... When the book first starts out, Calleigh is at a coffee shop trying to decide if she wants her usual or to be adventurous and get a new flavor.. when her phone rings, she's startled to find out that her husband was injured in the line of duty. When she asked how bad he was hurt, all they told her was to call the doctor in Germany to find out the details. Calleigh hung up and all of a sudden everything around her started to move. Then she found herself sitting down. When she looked up, she saw 2 men helping her. Asking if there was anything they could do to help - She told them she had to get back to her babies, as she tried to call her mom's number, her hands shook so bad one of the men took the phone from her and dialed for her. When her mom answered the phone, one of the men.. Rick talked to her mom, letting her know that they were safe and wanted to bring Calleigh home because she was in no condition to walk or wait. When her mom gave Rick the address, they brought Calleigh to their car. Trying to be nice, and not think about Kevin (her husband) she made polite conversation with both Rick Conner and Conor McGuire. Conor is from Ireland and has a strong Gaelic accent. When he gets upset or deep in emotions, he speaks Gaelic. It's awesome :) I wish I knew the language. It looks really beautiful  Anyways - so arriving at home, the guys walk her up to the door, introduce themselves to her mother. Her mother was in tears, and that's when Calleigh saw the man in uniform. She said she received the call that he was injured, but there was a mistake... he had died :( So Sad!! Rick and Conor both caught Calleigh as she fell into a heap. And her Sobs of denial ripped into Rick's soul and Conor wrapped his arms around her waist as the heaving shudders racked her small body. They'd only known her for a short hour, but she'd already wormed her way into their hearts. Her clear love of her husband and little boys was a testament to her character. he vowed then and there to protect this woman and her children from that day forward. Looking into Conor's eyes, he knew the man felt the same way. Awe - and that they did! For 3 freakin' YEARS they became father figures to these boys, they became best friends with Calleigh and she started to depend on them. They were there for her. The guys tried to date other women, but they only had eyes for Calleigh. When Calleigh announced that she thought she was ready to start dating again. She was asked by a guy at work, both guys tried hard to take the right path and pretend they were ok with it. As they stayed at her apartment to watch the boys while she was at her date, the guys were racked with nerves. When she got home, they asked how her date when. She said he kissed her, but there was no spark. "Maybe I'm just not ready to date yet." But Rick new there was fire in her. It just needed the right kind of spark to ignite. He looked at Conor and saw him nod. He turned Calleigh's head towards him. He touched their lips together for the first time. *ahem - details are in the book * He pulled back and looked into her passion-dazed eyes. Conor's hand cupped her cheek and turned her head towards him. *again, details are important in this book :) * NOW you would THINK that that would be the start of something awesome - and in a way, yes it is.. but not everyone is as excited to see a women with 2 toddlers fall in love with 2 beautiful men and make a family out of it... Problems arise. I really enjoyed this book - the real life issues of people totally misinterpreting the whole concept of a threesome is out there. And even thought I don't support having threesomes, I totally get it. Great story. Now this says it's the first book ... now I'm curious about the next one :) less

A really likeable read just Kinda wish the book had not skipped three years ahead after the prelude.
