review 1: Well I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. It just seemed alright. There a lot of laugh output times and some moments in this book really stuck out and just worked. I also loved the boys who were honest about there personal life in that they were horn dogs. It was hilarious and perfect and I really loved how they came tougher as a team to make it through the hell hole that place really was. I have to say though I wasn't feeling the "problems" of these characters. When you add the deeper issues part and the characters/ book together it makes this book seem super shitty to be honest. There conditions were horribly explained or sought through and I just felt these kids would've been better off without the issues. It kin of ruined the book because it wasn't carried out very w... moreell. I'm disappointed at that but I refuse to mix it in because otherwise this book was fairly decent.
review 2: Told in alternating voices, this book traces the recovery of two teens sent to a reform school. Adopted from China, Emmy is dealing with anger issues as the result of a relationship gone bad and her own certainty that she doesn't fit with her family. As the plot develops, it's clear that she struggles with self-esteem issues and an eating disorder. Justin is dealing with depression, and while he claims that his suicide attempt was a cry for help, clearly, he is not happy to be alive. Readers will probably be familiar with the challenges these two and their fellow patients face while rooting for them to succeed. While it might not be entirely clear how they find their way to recovery and health, part of their success stems from acceptance and the support of others. There are plenty of amusing scenes, including a field trip to a fair that results in the freeing of several pigs and the smuggling out of one piglet. While the book was amusing, the recovery seemed to happen rather rapidly. less

Very good easy to follow and even a little romance to go along with it. I really enjoyed it.

A great look into the world of young adults and how they can be so misunderstood.
