review 1: Dec is a hormonal teen who lusts after the unobtainable Neilly until it becomes really weird when Dec's dad hooks up with Neilly's mom and they decide to get married. Neilly's world comes crashing down all in one day when her best friend makes out with Neilly's boyfriend, the boyfriend breaks up with Neilly and then Neilly walks in on her mom after an afternoon tryst (and she has no idea who Dec is). Once these cricumstances begin to sort themselves out Dec and Neilly both have to figure out a way to coexist and accept the life changes their parents are taking them through. Notes from the Blender is a fun read.
review 2: This was a cute book, that seemed like many other YA books i've read before it. Two teens are forced to become a family when their parents fal
... morel in love. Dec has lost his mom at a young age and is enraged when his father chooses to fall in love with someone else. Neilly's dad is gay and is about to get married, and she has to deal with a cheating boyfriend and a best friend who is involved. The two become friends etc. It was a good filler read, but nothing I'd jump for joy for. less

Good storyline but way too many sexual comments and undertones for middle school students.

Cannot connect to any of the characters. The prose is hardly engaging as well.
