review 1: Such a good story. A lot of it feels familiar. It's kind of a combination of other books I've read. Aliens have invaded. Everyone's mind has been messed with to make them compliant. They are kept within a fenced-in community "for their safety". There are cameras everywhere. Their food is provided. Their lives are strictly structured to the point that the kids in the neighborhood step out of their front door for school at the exact same time. Marriages/unions are arranged. Courting is very serious. PDA is strictly forbidden. Ok, you get it, everyone is very controlled... EXCEPT Althea and Lucas!! The "mind meld" doesn't work on them!! They are special but also in danger. If they are found out, they will be disposed of. I really like Althea and Lucas. I like how they meet a... morend how their relationship develops. Their parentage is interesting. So jealous--they have super powers!! I'm really looking forward to the next book.
