review 1: "Collaboration is how most of our ancestors used to work and live, before machines came along and fragmented society... By the twentieth century, only a few self-isolated sects practiced the collaborative tradition... The result is that most of us grew up in a culture that applauded only individual achievement... The lone heroes are yesterday's role models. The media may still love them, but our new heroes are men and women who know how to gather allies, build teams, and work together toward shared goals." While the first half of this book was fairly inspiring, by the time I reached the end I had a difficult time translating the author's experiences as a choreographer into something useful in a different discipline. Her stories became less coherent as a discussion of colla... moreboration, and more of an autobiography. Sorry, I can't recommend it to other game devs.
review 2: I found this book incredibly helpful and encouraging because it relates directly to the kind of dance I do: improvisation with a troupe. I enjoyed all of the anecdotes that illustrate positive working relationships, what makes for good partners, and other enlightening little tidbits. It's a quick read and I think anyone who works with others in any context (which is just about everybody, I think!) would find this book useful and inspiring. less

Some good stuff about working collaboratively. Short and not as good as The Creative Habit.
