review 1: Two and half starts. A silly, predictable, GFY, insta-love story with two dimensional characters and clunky writing that still manages to be oddly compelling. There was a ton of sex noted, but most of it is described in the most perfunctorily way possible. Travis the desperate college student pretty much only nods vigorously and says "yeah" throughout the entire book, so don't expect him to spare a thought about what having sex with a man feels like other than "great". If you ignore such writing gems as: "Only six years older than him, when he'd discovered her emails . . ." that left me wondering how much older than him she was now since apparently they are aging at different rates along with many other improperly sequenced clauses and the subject matter appeals you will p... morerobably find it entertaining.
review 2: Travis (aka Craig) is a straight college boy who needs to make fast money, so he decides to star in a gay porn movie with seasoned av's actor Marston Cougar.Gary (aka Marston) is a straight philosophy professor who started doing porn at a young age to pay for his studies and for his niece's medical bills. He had his heart broken by his first movie partner, so he doesn't date anyone, like ever, especially on the job.So far, so good. The premises may be not the most originals, but, hey, sometimes you wanna just read something easy and relax. From here forward, though, it's free fall all the way to the end.On day one, they meet, they talk and they f*ck for the first time. Travis is a virgin, and he's supposedly straight, but that doesn't stop him to beg for it with feelings and to enjoy it from minute one. Eh, a little hard to believe, but I'm still on board. They f*ck in the shower. They f*ck by the pool. They f*ck in the shower, again. They f*ck in bed, yet again. By the end of the day, Travis thinks he might be in love (oh, nevermind the fact he's straight and never felt attracted to another guy before or that he met the guy five minutes before!).By day two, Gary is on the same boat (it took him a bit longer, but it's understandable... he had this rule about not dating anyone, like ever, especially on the job-- plus, he's straight, too).In a couple of days they're professing mutual love and making plans for the future--- and they've yet to tell each other their real names or something about their lives... I could go on and write about the big misunderstanding that put at risk their happiness together or about the happy ending, but I'm boring myself as I write, so... no thanks. less
