review 1: When Velvet Reed asked me to beta read Rhythm of my Heart earlier this year, I picked it up knowing this was Velvet's debut, I was stunned the effortless beauty of her words, the pictures she created that swam through my mind, I was engulfed, invested, over joyed and heartbroken turning those final pages, so when she again approached me with the first instalment of Saving Our Hearts, I was ready for the onslaught of emotion I was expecting to experience. What I wasn't ready for was just how deeply this book would effect me, the soaring highs and devastating lows I felt left me speechless. Cole and Gracie's lives have been torn apart, Gracie is fighting for her life, their child hanging in the balance and Cole is dangerously close to losing the ability to be strong enough f... moreor his family.Reed paints such a vivid picture with her writing that I felt every word, had such a visceral reaction that I see sawed between feeling desolate, sick, nauseous, alone and isolated, to feeling pure unadulterated joy. The skill she shows by taking me with her, with these characters on their journey. I could rewrite the blurb for you, but instead I'm going to tell you this, pick up this series, allow yourself to be transported by Reed, to experience the world she has created, to fall in love with her characters just like I did.
review 2: I just finished Saving Our Hearts and I just loved it. This is apart of the Matters of the Heart Series so it must be read in order. This is a continuance from The Rhythm of my Heart ending so we are finally, FINALLY able to find out what happens. This story is about Cole and Gracie overcoming their obstacles to be together. We get to find out who has been trying to hurt Cole to get to Gracie. We will also get more from Miranda and her conniving, bitchy ways. Its a roller coaster ride that you will want to be apart of. We are are lucky though because we get more than that. We have secondary characters that are just as memorable. It is all so beautifully intertwined that you just cannot help but fall in love with all the characters and you will be wanting to know what happens next.
