review 1: Disclaimer: I received this book as a prize from a goodreads giveaway.I enjoyed this book. I thought the text was interesting, the pictures were nice, it's a big book and it has thick pages. There are a number of very popular/famous knit designers and some really cute patterns. That said, I don't think I would have bought this book. There was nothing mind blowing in the book. There were 2-3 patterns that I really liked but, realistically, I'd probably only knit one of them (a pair of socks) and, maybe, possibly, the Rebecca Danger monster. There was a really pretty sweater but the size range was fairly small. Interestingly, one of the "secrets" was crochet and there were several crochet patterns. Different for a knitting book but not a bad thing. If you like scarv... morees and shawls, this may be a good book for you. There is a gorgeous beaded shawlette from Sivia Harding and several very cute scarves from various designers, including Romi Hill. I think this book deserves a flip through. If you like the patterns enough to buy the book I think the text will be enjoyable as well.
review 2: I had trouble getting into this book. It is a knitting book that has a story to tell. It journals the stages of knitting mojo that the authors have experienced. I should have taken more time to read this and enjoy it as an "editorial". There are nice patterns interspersed with essays and it features some farms and some knitting celebs! I might check it out of the library again, when it's not Christmas and when I have more time to enjoy it. less
