review 1: A decade ago, George Becket turned a blind eye to a crime committed by two members of the all-powerful Gregory family (think Kennedys?) Now an assistant D.A., he owes his position to the Gregory clan, but is impelled to rebel when confronted with another crime, possibly linked to the family. With no-one to trust, George sets out on a potentially fatal course of action: to expose the Gregorys to the law. This thriller is a genuine page-turner and a fascinating insight into power and corruption.
review 2: I like a good mystery, and to have one set on Cape Cod is a bonus. This however lacked a critical element that I consider necessary in a mystery - evidence! I was frustrated throughout the book because the assistant DA was making accusations based on no evidence
... more other than his knowledge of a personality. The end didn't make me feel any better. I like to be able to explore the clues and see if I can solve the mystery - this book lacked clues and any type of resolution. By the time I got to the end I thought Thank Goodness it's over. Not a way you want to end a book. less

This was a quick easy read for a rainy day... reminiscent of the early John Grisham books.

So So.. Not too much action or drama. Does it remind anyone of a big family?
