review 1: Pretty good story about a lawyer investigating a murder that happened 9 years ago that never was followed thru by the D.A. and the local police, because it involved a very powerful, rich and politically connected family (The Gregorys). A lot of doubts, wrong turns and denials about the events that transpired that evening where a young girl was bashed in the head with a golf club. A good story from beginning to end.
review 2: Story of a college student who witnesses wealthy, privileged classmates commit a rape. Guilt over his lack of action in helping to convict them follows him for years. He becomes a district attorney and gets the opportunity to bring these men to justice as he investigates an additional murder for which these men are suspects. Unfortunately
... more, I can't recommend the book. Despite the changes of setting from Boston to Hawaii to California to Costa Rica to France, the action and adventure seems forced. Also, the lawyer's guilt over his inactivity after the first crime is constantly harped on - I got it; didn't need it referred to over. And. Over. Sorry. less

Captured my interest early on...too predictable in the middle and a little slow.
