review 1: I liked the book. I like Wanda's books in general. I hae a grandmother who lives in a Amish area, so have always been curiouus about them. This book is about a woman whosee hussband dies and she moves back to her Mother's household, she can't believe how her mother treats her son, or her Grandfather whom she is careing for although we all know that being a caretaker is very rough.....she can't seem to get work and can't find a way to make a living and she hooks up with an Amish man who lost his wife and has four very very rambunctiious boys....she isn't in love with him, but if she doesn't marry him who will support her? The story has a few hard twists and turns and the book was an easy read I had it done in two days. I did enjoy it. Amish books are always a bit charmi... moreng and faith based, they enjoy a simpler life than the rest of us, in some ways harder....Here is the description as found here on Good Reads:Visit Amish Country during the fall as Lydia King attempts to make Charm, Ohio, feel like home after losing her husband. But is her heart ready to open back up to love when gifts appear on her porch from a mystery source? Could it be from the widowed father of four energetic boys, or is it from the man who has rejected romance to be his family’s caregiver? When life hands Lydia another challenge, will the gift giver be there to support her
review 2: This is the first of Wanda Brunstetter's books I have read and I was a bit disappointed. I think it was mostly the language used - two of the main characters were referred to as "Mom", rather than their names. It was confusing when the focus changed from one family to the other and you didn't know who the "Mom" was that was referred to.The plot line was good, although Lydia had more than her share of troubles! It almost seemed like overkill to me.I was well into the book before the real love interest started making his move, although his was prodded to do so by several in his family. Then when he tried, he was shot down in one manner or another several times. More overkill, I thought. The book kept me engaged and up late reading it, so it was good enough. I'll be reading more by this author - I have a couple more that were loaned to me! less

so many contrived situations and flat characters. it got better as it progressed but not by much.
