review 1: Good premise - a man leaves his 6 year old with an Amish couple, then disappears. 16 years later, they are reunited. He had tried to find them earlier, but they moved. Didn't try very hard though, a simple ad in a Amish newpaper and bingo, he's found.I hated the "jealousy" episodes - an engaged couple gets very jealous on numerous occasions when their fiance/ee is seen talking in public to another person. Seriously?? Good message though - pray, trust in God not yourself.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book. I felt sad for Will the way he was left with Mark & Regina Stoltzfuses When he was 6 years old. His father was Frank Henderson & his mother had passed away from cancer . Frank wanted to find a job but was hurt in an accidents. Meanwhile Mark & Regina mo... moreved from Lancaster, PA to Middlebury,Indiana. Will had joined the Amish church & was engaged to marry Karen Yoder before. Papa Mark was hurt while milking one day & was in the hospital a bit. Will's friend Nathan would help him with the milking. Papa Mark got better again. Will was troubled by his past, but with Karen there for him he managed. He lost 2 horses & was hurt very bad that he neeeded blood transfusion. So his father Frank donated blood to save his life. Frank married Megan & had 2 daughters Carrie & Kim. Throughout the story Will & Karen got jealous. Will didn't like Leroy hanging around Karen & Karen didn't like Mary Jane. Well it so happened Leroy was interested in Vonda & she in him, Nathan was interested in Mary Jane so things worked out for those couples. Will & Karen married & were so happy!!! Will's favorite desert was White Christmas Pie. I like how throughout the story I didn't get lost. I got to know the people in the story & was happy how the story ended. less
