As you go from page to page, readers are greeted with a collective name for a group of animals. There is one name assigned to each letter and is featured in large font as the header then there is a snippet of information related to that animal group and what a person might observe if they saw the group of animals together. Interestingly enough I found this book to be an enjoyable read and filled with facts I think young children will find amusing.
review 2: A strange choice for Virginia Readers Cho... moreice awards, picture books, which is pitched to the lower grades. This is a sophisticated book on the naming of animal groups, like a murder of crows. The writers/illustrators are graphic artists by day and the illustrations are fantastic...for older readers. I could see upper grade science classes or middle-high school art teachers using this book to teach design. less
