review 1: This is a fine glimpse into Nigerian life today, from a woman's point of view. I especially liked the quotes of Nigerian wisdom at the beginning of each chapter. The tone is comfortable and easy; it was like Morayo was sitting beside me telling me her story. I loved the characters and I really liked how there is no build up to a super emotional event that leaves me, the reader, crying or upset. All is smooth, the good and the bad happen as in life and everyone deals with it in their own ways. We see that life for a woman growing up in Nigeria can be good but that it is not easy, and that the women are holding it all together until a better day. There is really not much here about the men. We see several strong, good men and a few who are not. The lives of women in African ... morecountries are so different from mine and even from each other. Any book that can help me see some of them better is a great read.
review 2: SecretsMorayo lives in Nigeria. She's a protective sister with a secret. Once the secret is revealed, the situation is never discussed. The family is expected to continue as if nothing happened. Does the secret affect any of the family members?“Daughters Who Walk This Path” is a great debut. I felt a range of emotions. Morayo is someone I know who experienced a traumatic ordeal. Yejide Kilanko takes you on a journey. As with anyone who experiences trauma, they have their days. Despite the low points in Morayo's life, I enjoyed reading such a testimony. Instead of succumbing to her circumstances, she moved forward. The characters meshed well together. Morayo was surrounded by family and friends. Besides Morayo, I loved Morenike. She was an aunt and was there for her niece. They have a close relationship. I would highly recommend this book to those who can appreciate a relatable experience.Reviewed by: Jas less

Good coming of age story. I preferred the first half of the book to the last half.

I absolutely loved this book. It was well written. Plus I love the ending.

A little too fairy tale and cheesy for my taste, so it loses a star.
