review 1: Bloody hell!! That has been one hell of a read! Absolutely brilliant, intriguing, tough but unusually beautiful. This one had me in turmoil throughout most of the book. I was hooked from the first few opening lines and I just had to finish it as quickly as possible to see what happened. It will keep you hooked too, it never seems to slow down. It's a full on read all the way through. I went through some emotions with this one, hate for the male lead being at the forefront but after a while I actually started to like him. If you've read this one then you will know that I shouldn't possibly like Jaxton but I honestly couldn't help it. I had to like him. He was a little crazy.... ok, so he was a lot crazy but he played it off as if it was as natural as a sunrise to kidnapp a ... morewoman and try to "break her". The woman he kidnapps is called Riley, she works in a little bookstore, doesn't have much of a social life and seems to be only young. I can't say too much as it would give away the story. Be prepared for this one though, it's a very tough read at times with torture, humiliation and murder. Also there is a mention of rape, well it's more than a mention but it is no way descriptive. If I had held off reading this one till the New Year I would have said it was going to be in my top reads of 2015. So it's going to be added to my top reads of 2014.
review 2: I've sat on this review forever and all I can say is What the Hell!? That man is a psycho! I hated this book the entire time I was reading, but I kept reading because I wanted to know how it ended. That has to say something....but I'm not sure what. Regardless, this book deals with abuse and violence well beyond any dark romance I have ever read, and I love dark romance. I guess I just want able to connect with the characters and understand why the abuse continued as it did. I wouldn't recommend it, but I seem to be the minority. less
