review 1: While I found the history and the comparative mythology very intriguing, it really bothered me that he didn't list his sources - no end notes or anything, so even if some of his ideas are plausible at the least, the lack of sources kind of buttresses his "quack" status. And he seems to have untangled a little bit too much of the, um, gods' personal lives as well. I would probably still enjoy other of his books, though, as I found this one interesting and well written.
