review 1: Okay, I usually don't write reviews on books. This book was on my Christmas list this year, and I REALLY wanted to read it. After having read lots and lots of dark dystopian fiction, I felt that it was time to read something light and fluffy. I read this book in about 4 hours and I was somewhat satisfied. I really liked the main character, even though I felt that the rest of the characters were too predictable. I liked (SPOILERS) the part where Noah takes her to all these special places because I felt that that was something that was not predicted, and I loved that. However, the characters, almost all of them, I felt were way too predictable. Ranging from the happy oh-my-god-type of gay best friend, a surprisingly mature five-year-old, the guy who-is-way-out-of-my-league b... moreut still ends up liking her, and then there is Noah. The too-perfect famous rockstar who falls in love with Penny. But if you are looking for an easy read I recommend this one. It has got everything some teenage girls want and hope for in a book, romance, fame, beautiful relationships between friends and so much more.
review 2: Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of Zoe Sugg's blog and YouTube channel, but I don't think writing is her strong suit. I, like many other fans, read this book to support Zoella. As someone who is a sucker for the classic "girl-meets-boy" love story, I immediately thought this book would be something I would enjoy. While I didn't hate the book, I felt it was very cliche and the plot was lacking. To be honest, I'm surprised that a ghost writer was hired and the book still turned out this way. It truly saddens me that Zoella most likely got this deal simply because she is already famous. I hope that in the future publishing companies decide to take risks on the lesser known books that have a higher quality instead of publishing a book by a certain person just to sell more copies. Overall I would give the book 2.5/5 stars. less
