review 1: This book is a really good beach read, about a post-college grad and her struggle to make dreams a reality. I really liked that it was about making a film, and following your passion. Of course it was a bit like The Devil Wears Prada but it held its own and made sense. It didn't pick up until the middle of the book but once things started rolling I read quickly, finishing the last hundred pages or so in a day, mostly in one sitting. I am going to look into more of Dean's LA lifestyle books and I hope they are as good as this one.
review 2: I'd really like to give it 2.5 stars because I *did* like it--it was just that the ending fell flat for me. I thought it was a fun, frothy read--very Devil-Wears-Prada vibe (at least the movie version). And I thought the paci... moreng was fast and the dialogue was fun, but like I said, the ending wrapped up in too neat a bow for me and I felt the teensy bit let down. Still, a good summer read (even in February :) less
