review 1: Cover is lovely. The sentence structure fairly simple, and at times the book felt both derivative and very young. And this from a person who loves YA. Quick read, but the emotional development/maturity of the characters leaves a lot to be desired. That said, I'll be interested in seeing how this teen's writing career develops. She has a lot of imagination and native storytelling/world crafting ability.
review 2: If your looking for a good vampire book with bite this is the book for you.I followed the author, or as i knew her from her days on wattpad canse12, for years.Through random searching for a good vampire story, I found the first chapter and immediatley fell in love with the story, following it chapter by chapter as it was uploaded. Despite it obviously ... moreneeding a few tweeks here and there it was already pretty prefect. When I found out the book was to be published I, of course, pre-ordered the second it was available. When I had finished reading the published version it was more then i thought it would be. Unfortunatly, as happens with many authors, scenes got cut, but the best thing is you can still check out the original on wattpad so you wont miss out. With regards to the storyline, without spoilers, the main character is a feisty british girl thrust into the world of vampires, but watch out these ones bite! Gibbs reinvented the way we have thought of vampires, giving it an almost middle ground between blood thirsty killers and twilight. There are so many twists and turns, it will keep you gripped from page to page. A must read for any vampire/fantasy lover. less
