review 1: We pick up where book 1 left us, that door slamming in Sophia’s face and her greatest fear being realized. Dominic (Dom) is stunned, hurt and angry by the apparent betrayal that Sophia has committed against him. He doesn’t understand how she could do that to him. He vows to make her, and her ‘accomplice’ Harrison, pay. Sophia wants nothing more than to explain to Dominic why she did what she felt she had no other choice in doing. She feels lost and utterly alone in the world with her Dom. Dom, on the other had, is angry at her for her betrayal, but he still loves her. He can’t be truly happy without her and he knows this. They end up working together again, and agree to try and forgive one another and put their past behind them. Their relationship is put... more to the test, and it seems, at every turn, there is opposition they have to face and defeat. This new start does not come easy, but nothing worth fighting for usually is. There’s love, happiness, good news, action, drama, angst, sadness and the promise of a better future, together they can accomplish anything. There are plot twists galore and who you thought was the bad guy just might not be the only person out to get this couple. Sometimes, the people you know turn out to be more dangerous, than your enemies. The miles of betrayal and deceit seemed to have no end. At every turn, there was something new learned that made you rethink who was behind all the problems.Dom and Sophia have a different DOM/sub relationship. He is more loving and patient with her. It’s a refreshing contrast to the overplayed DOM who doesn’t bend or budge. She is fully dependent upon him. She isn’t weak by any means though. She is a strong woman who freely gives her submission to him. But, they mesh together very well and you find yourself rooting for them to succeed against the dark clouds that seem to hover just over their shoulders. The intimate scenes make you need to fan yourself. My kindle almost spontaneously combusted from the heat radiating off the screen. My advice to you is this, ONE CLICK this series! You won’t regret it! AD Justice has another hit on her hands. I can’t wait to see what’s next from her great mind.
review 2: This continues where Her Dom left off so warning to all who want to pick up this book you may want to read Her Dom first. That being said the book is good. The characters are true to form and consist in how they came across from one book to the next. Very important when reading a series because if that changes than you feel cheated. Here Dominic is in pain and angry. He loves Sophia but she betrayed him. She used him and that hurt. Now she is suing him as well which brings the knife further. This is where you feel for him and really want to smack Sophia I mean really there were so many times you could have said something but you didn’t so please forgive me if I don’t feel for you and side with Dom in staying away. He doesn’t completely walk away though for he has Tucker watch out for her. Meanwhile Shadow is his shadow literally. Shadow and Tucker to me are more fascinating that Sophia and what is happening with her. The dynamic of these two and how they interact with each other is what got me. You wonder about them and their relationship to each other. You wonder their background and their story. Such loyalty they give Dom. This comes out in the actions that are written on the page. So Dom has had his life in danger and his lover Sophia betray him. She wants to explain and has some surprises for him as well. when her ex enters the picture more and dominates the story more you begin to have empathy for her but still you feel more for Dom. She has her reasons but to do what she did is wrong. So when Dom takes her back wholly it is hard to swallow. but understandable. As they go through their days trying to unravel the mystery of what was going on more danger ensues. Their are two issues-Sophia and her brother and who wants Dom dead. Oh and also Dom’s past that Sophia’s ex wants to destroy him about. A past that her ex has a direct link to and continues to yield power over Dom. At first you think all these are linked together but they aren’t. In the end the surprise and somewhat unbelievable revelation occurs and even though it makes for fascinating reading it is a wee bit much. The story is interesting and fast paced. The action wonderful. The romance and sweetness of Dom is great. The intimate scenes steamy and the plot is actual a few but this isn’t really shown to you until the end. A steamy action packed read that has forgiveness, trust and love at its forefront. less
