Thank GOD for Eliza Gayle. What an absolute queen. I think she’s becoming one of my favorite authors. Buckle up, kids! (actually I hope there are no kids reading this)
I loved this novel! It was absolutely scorching hot! Eve Blake is a solid character with complexities and vulnerabilities that meshed well with Chase and Murphy. I thought Eve, Chase and Murphy were so multi dimensional they each had their baggage and sex was an important aspect to the novel but, it wasn’t really the main focus. I really enjoyed the power play between the three main characters. They clashed at times but when they got on the same wavelength, wooo! Lord Almighty. The push and pull off Eve’s need to keep control along with Chase and Murphy’s need and desire for her to put that control in their hands is so passionate for lack of a better word.
Likes: 1. EVE IS PLUS SIZED. That is so important and sadly, also a rarity in literature. It’s rare to see chubby/fat girls not being treated as a joke.
2. Murphy. Oh MY GOD MURPHY. He was so hot and playful yet commanding. I enjoyed Chase as well, except for most of the novel, he was really brusque and closed off with Eve. But when he wanted to be, he and Chase were the perfect Doms.
3. I enjoyed that Eliza introduced knife and breath play but it was lightly introduced. Knife play especially is something I’ve never read before. I know what it is I’ve just never seen it in novels.
Dislikes: Chase for most of the novel. I understand his reasons for his behavior towards Eve, however, it doesn’t make certain actions okay.
I think I’ve found my reviewing format! I really enjoy it this way where I get to just sit down and talk about books like I’m speaking to a friend. (:
I have a crap ton of books to read and review so you’ll see me back here reeeal soon. And I’ll be back with a different genre this time.
Till next time!
XOXO, Gigi.
