review 1: This is not your normal 'survival of the end of the world' type of story. It centers around six characters of a crew on a derelict oil rig in the Artic Circle, and tells of how they survive being stranded on the rig as some sort of world-wide epidemic runs rampant. There is no explanation of the epidemic, but leaves the body to become what many would call zombie-like, but not exactly what we consider zombies. Great easy reading story, that Baker takes in some unexpected directions, leaving an ending that I would not have guessed. Great action, captures some of the emotion that solitude could bring out in a person, and the need to fight on at all costs for life.
review 2: An oil refinery. What a fantastic setting for a zombie book. I loved the many character, I
... morereally identified with her, I loved how she came into her own by the end. As soon as I finished it I found myself on amazon looking for the next one only to be bitterly disappointed that the next one isn't a continuation of this one. I thought the zombies were fantastically original and very creepy, but I need to know more. Please Mr Baker, can you tell us what happened next? less

Loved this novel. Everything I look for in Science Fiction thrillers. Very good.

Entretenido y con un ritmo trepidante, pero no aporta nada nuevo al género.

Contrived, nightmare inducing nonsense.
