review 1: This book is super funny. My criticism is in the excessive offensive language. I know, I know it's Adam Corolla. I just wish that he could see that he is so much better and funnier than his writing which is filled with the f word and racist, homophobic, anti-woman rheteric. I listened to this one on audio which made the constant f-bombs especially striking--and embarrassing, if others overheard what I was listened to. On the other hand, I agreed with many of the points that he was trying to make. I wish I could rate this one higher, but I just can't.*One other comment: Carolla goes on a rant about how second hand smoke killing people isn't a real thing. He says "Name one celebrity who died from second hand smoke." Over and over he says it. And then he says somethi... moreng like "you can't...because it's not real." The whole time I'm shouting "Dana Reeves". I was embarrassed for him.
review 2: There's a lot to be said for plainspokenness, and Carolla has no filter, no debt to any political party or professional grievance group--he says what he believes. It's sad that people like him are so rare. His first instinct is to entertain, and the book is entertaining. People of almost any political stripe will find logical ideas here beneath the comedy though. It's not quite as deep as his previous volume (nor as funny) but still a worthy, entertaining book. (yes I just called a book titled "Not Taco Bell Material" deep). less

Completely unvarnished, Carolla is at his funniest, sharpest and witty best.

Pretty good, but most of it was already discussed on the podcast.
