review 1: Thought provoking...a strong argument for the merits of "disagreeing without being disagreeable"....for loving and listening to those who might see things differently from ourselves. While my social and religious values lean a bit further to the right than Hamilton's, I couldn't agree more with his plea to encourage open and honest dialogue as opposed to the dogmatic diatribe that typically flows from both the far right and the far left. I enjoyed his concise and objective summaries of the opposing views on many of today's "hot-button" topics. I will hold this book on my library shelf with a reminder to read again in 15 years to see how the narrative around these issues has evolved.
review 2: Overall I really liked this book, however there wasn't really very mu
... morech new information for me. Most of what Adam Hamilton said has been said before or I've thought before.I also disagree with him on some of the issues but I suppose in a book like this that's to be expected. There's a lot of sermon potential in here though and I do think that the goal of finding ways to see gray and work with those whose beliefs differ so greatly from our own is of a great value. less

A book meant to help discuss different sides of the issue around controversial topics.

I agree with Mr. Hamilton's concept; there can be a radical center.
