review 1: I have to say that I really really enjoyed this book. This is the first book by Giordano that I have read and I was not disappointed.Gina was a really likeable who was portrayed very realistically. She matured throughout the story from a still grieving widow to an energetic mature woman who knew what she wanted from life and tried very hard to obtain it, but never at the expense of her children's best interest.Vic was just great ,he pulled you in with his man views and thoughts and his "man laws"(what can I say). His attitude was all "alpha male" but when it came to Gina and her kids he became a real softie. Very nicely done.I feel that the story line was done really well, at one point in the story I had to stop reading and get a tissue.Gina's balancing acts between wid... moreow, mother, lover, sister and working mother were more than realistic. Some of us can probably relate to what she was going threw. The "man laws" used as headers for the chapters were great and I really enjoyed them, some of them even made me laugh. The same goes for the banters between Vic and Gina.We get some action and attitude with two of Gina's kids, got to love Lilly, but nothing from the middle child.Just Seem to me that he was missing and in the shadow, not really part of the story.Loved the guys that Vic works with and the banner between them.I hope we get to see them in future books with their HEA.
review 2: Vic is a former special operative who is a VP for his BF security firm. Sometime he also does "cowboy" jobs. Vic thinks it is best that he not get emotionally involved with anyone - and forget ever having a wife and family.Vic has feelings for his BF's sister. Gina is a widow with three kids. Her husband was killed 4 years previously when he was trying to save a family from a burning building. Just as Vic and Gina start to explore their attraction, Vic learns someone from his past is targeting Gina and her family as a way to retaliate. Each chapter starts with Man Laws - which are great and Vic and his friend's banter is a great read.I enjoyed this book - and I will look for the next book in this series. less
