review 1: I had high hopes for this book.... Interesting themes (marital roles, infertility, family vs career) and period time....but really struggled with the way the story evolved. I had to commit to stick with it and finally by the middle of the book, was anxious to pick it up and was engaged with the story line. But I found the Diva to be incredibly self-centered...and was thoroughly disappointed with her choices when it came to her son -- and that her very 'unlikeable' for me.
review 2: "Rich historical romantic debut novel?" Rich alright..bad writing that was all over the place,characters I couldnt connect with at all to even TRY and get into the story. I usually make it to 150 pages,sometimes more before tossing in the towel. This was a record for me I didnt eve... moren get that far..I even skimmed to see IF it gets better..no chance. Maybe that's why the library had a sell off this weekend? Hmmmm.. less
