review 1: Normally, I don't write reviews but felt compelled to now as I absolutely loved this book. I am surprised to read its contents, which are almost news for me. It's erudite, witty, imaginative and packed with great ideas. I'm a person who has often been drawn to aspects of religion, but couldn't really articulate why. In clear, illuminating prose, this wonderful book has explained why ancient people crafted religions. It also gave me loads of food for thought. Apart from exposing the illusion of gods, it explains the impact of the concept of gods on humans today. This book has shattered my faith. It is a painful experience to know that whatever I knew about gods was illusion; I am no longer protected by a savior God. In the long run this may help me to believe my... moreself.
review 2: This books challenges the concept of God-belief from a Scientific viewpoint. The writing style is very simple and it turned out to be a breezy read. The underlying message of the book is to force people out of ignorance and start progressing in life through intellectual discovery of external environment and also to critically analyse traditional beliefs. Overall, an excellent effort from Ajay Kansal. less
