review 1: Very low two.... This felt like a very long, poorly written summary of a book I'd like to read. The plot had so much potential and the author's knowledge of the subject matter was obvious. However, the execution was painful. The adverb choice and use was enough to drive an English teacher up the wall. Another reviewer described the writing style as juvenile; I agree with that and find it much kinder than I would have chosen. Another example of a great book in need of a powerful editor or perhaps even ghost writer. I have got to stop getting the Kindle freebies... :/
review 2: Enjoyed the book and admired Shane for following up with his son's request. Ending was not what I expected but after some thought and evaluation felt it was probably appropriate due... more to the circumstances. Enjoyed the description of the mountains and the spectacular views. We would hope that that it was left open and not developed. Also hope that the increased revenue brought in by the oil discovery would benefit the tribes' peoples. less
