review 1: I picked this up to read with my 29 month old son, as the reviews said it had pictures you can pour over and over again with something new to find each time. Already at not quite 2 1/2, he is a big fan of Where's Waldo, so I thought this would be a good fit. Boy, was I right! The book's only text is on the front end papers, where we are introduced to over a dozen animal characters, each with a story of his or her own to follow along. With each two page spread, the scene changes as the characters go about one single day from morning to night. You can follow along with one, two, several or all each time, making each reading different from the next with endless possibilities. There are also hidden items (a pencil, cheese, apples) to find on each page.A big hit in our household... more and one that I can see D pouring over for years to come!
review 2: Such a beyond cool book! Think Where's Waldo or I Spy on sturdy board-book-like pages but wordless! The first two page spread introduces readers to the characters in the boo and asks them a question about the adventures they will have over the course of the book. Readers must study the pictures and tell themselves the stories of the individual characters to answer the questions. This is a book I can easily see reluctant readers gobbling up. It would be soooo easy to just sit with this book for hours studying all the details of each scene. Also, this would make a great gift book for a home library. Wide age range on this one: PreK-6. less
