review 1: I think this could be a good discussion for a book club, because its about the devaluation of the written word while simultaneously being very well written. Well at least part of it. Much of it is in gibberish, which is the effect of the word flu epidemic unleashed on this alternative future. This book loses a star for the chunk written in gibberish that relied on melodrama for the reader to figure out the intent.
review 2: I found the semi realistic scenarios of word flu a fun cautionary adventure. the story does lag mid way through the book and instead of a heroin coming out in the end, we instead have a co dependent woman who survived, but never really comes into her own. Good premise and intricately plotted, but hard to follow and way too long.
