review 1: This is a solid, well-informed (Lukeman served in the Marine Corps), covert-operations thriller. It pulls you in and keeps you reading. With appropriate suspension of disbelief, you can plow right over its occasional plot gaps and time lapses. My only wish was for an editorial hand vigilant enough to prevent redundancies like "azure blue" and "raven black". But those quibbles notwithstanding, I recommend The Seventh Pillar for fans of the genre.
review 2: So far i have read 4 Alex Lukeman books and what i like the most is offbeat topics and the research that goes into writing it. Continuing characters obviously makes the reading more interesting. Though this book is the usual run of the mill Islamic jihad group out with their arms against US, but what makes it
... moreinteresting is that there is a small group within islam and their history, the legend about Prophets 10th Sword. Overall a good read. less
