review 1: It says this was written in 2012 but it might as well have been 2002. Who uses a Blackberry anymore?? Alex is described in the synopsis as nerdy and geeky but no scenes in the book support that. We meet her in a hospital setting so you think she's a doctor but then it comes out later she's a "scientist"? What? A lab assistant? If nerdy and geeky describes someone who needs a makeover and can only afford to shop at Kmart, then I guess a lot of the population is nerdy and geeky. The supporting cast of Mary, Sarah and Britney are so one dimensional, it's just sad. As much as I tried, I just didn't find anything to like in this story or feel able to recommend it.A freebie read from the iTunes bookstore.
review 2: I enjoyed this, people commented lots on spelling... more and grammar mistakes, but the version on iBooks clearly wasn't the same or I somehow completely ignored it all... Anyway, I liked this a lot, and then read other reviews and thought about my rating, because really, some of them were right. When reading my only complaint was, you know each other for 2 weeks and love eachc other enough to get married, and enough that your own father willingly hands you over to do it? My dad would throw a fucking fit, get out his damn shot gun and blow a hole in the guys face! Heart transplant or not, dad would be all like you paid all this money to buy your way into her pants. And then think and be like you've been in her pants? I'll shoot you for that too! But anyway, the other reviews made me realise the cliche storyline, and think back to all the expensive name dropping blah blah blah. Anyway, it'd be good for a youngin to read! less
