review 1: I have a mixed opinion on this book. Though I enjoyed the story I found it pretty predictable, I seemed to know what was coming and it was disappointing because I was hoping and praying for something unexpected to happen. I loved the relationship between the leads but it lacked something there for me. I ended up skipping the last few sex scenes because they were pretty boring, each scene was the same and I know writing great sex is hard and sex can be pretty similar from one time to another but those scenes lacked something for me too. There were some errors that a proof reader or editor should have picked up on such as "purse", in the context it was used I thought it meant 'handbag' the British word for the american "purse" of course I could be mistaken and it means "purs... moree" as in the American equivalent of American "Wallet". The story often felt rushed and it lacked the imaginative detail that I like in books. I don't have a mental picture of either apartment or the practice space which were three areas the book was most centralised on and other than the two mains I don't have a visual image of any of the characters either.I guess it could be that I expected more from this book than what it contained. Great story but lacking is the only way I can describe it. Due to the fact that even though it was predictable and lacked detail I still enjoyed the story I will go on to read book 2 seeing as I have it, I'm silently hoping there's an improvement on the first.
review 2: Wow, just wow...and not a good wow. I don't give 1 star to anything, I always feel really guilty if I don't give at least 3 but I just can't do it. There are so many problems with this book. The characters are pretentious, always going on about what great musicians they are and how they are so gifted and talented. Then you have "The Band Rules" that are completely ridiculous and out of line. There are problems with consistency as well. At one point it says Linney has a stomach bug but a page later it says its Laslow. Those kind of mistakes take away for the flow of the story, at least they do for me. The conversations are stunted, the sex isn't even good. I honestly can't find anything that works for me in this book. less

2.5... Not that bad but couldn't "connect" with the characters

The writing was choppy and stilted but it was a decent story.
