Book Review: ‘The Death of an Owl’ by Paul Torday

I’ve just finished reading this book which took me about 2 weeks to get through. It’s by the author of ‘Salmon fishing in the Yemen’ which was made into a film starring Ewan McGregor.

This was Paul Torday’s last book – he actually died before finishing the book and his son Piers Torday (children’s author of the ‘Last Wild’ trilogy) finished the book after his father’s death.

It is an entertaining read throughout, and gives an interesting perspective on what the lure of power can do to over-ambitious people who will stop at nothing to be successful.

I am really grateful to Piers for completing his father’s book – it would have been a tragedy for this not to have been shared!

I would give the book 7/10.

Well worth a read!

So, what shall I read next? Any suggestions very welcome…
