review 1: So many modern day readers say they can't read another book about the holocaust - hasn't it all been said? But this book moved me immensely. I loved the ending....how the story of a life comes out of a list of names and their dates of death. Beautifully written. A loving tribute. Thank you Alison Pick.
review 2: Poignant, crisply written, and frightening, this story about a secular Jewish family and their governess, Marta, in Czechoslovakia at the beginning of WWII is a gem of a novel. But the book sticks to reality and everyone knows about the fate of millions of Jews and the betrayal of so many by those they trusted and believed were friends. Far to Go is a powerful and sensitive novel. less
