review 1: 2 1/2 stars. This is another book that was recommended to my 9 year-old daughter at school (a "Sasquatch Book") and when she finished she wanted me to read it. I'm surprised it's a recommended book, because it seemed awfully mediocre to me. That being said, I'm almost never a fan of books that have an evil/devil plot line... and I don't know why this is a popular choice to recommend to middle readers.
review 2: I read this book at the request of my librarian so that I could give him my opinion. I thought it was a cute book. I would say that the book would probably appeal to boys 8-11ish the most. It has robbers, magicians, wolves, a missing prince, and of course an evil villain. I thought parts of it were pretty predictable.
