review 1: This is the first in the Anna Curtis series which now numbers three with a couple more to follow. Leotta does a good job of introducing the characters, vividly describing the setting and offering a gritty look at domestic violence. Her background as a federal prosecutor is evident as she weaves the story of Anna trying to find justice for the victim. This is a series/author introduced to me at Malice Domestic 25 and one I plan to keep reading.
review 2: While this book is a fast read, it was predictable and disappointing from the start. Anna Curtis falls in love despite her "vast" attempts not to do so, then one day breaks up with this man who is amazing in her eyes...all due to the fact he does the exact same job he has had since she met him! This book reli... morees on too many untrue principles. This book was simple-minded, juvenile, and disappointing to say the least. less
