review 1: I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. I didn't want it to end....I didn't want to leave the woods. Allyse Near (born in the year I graduated high school MIND YOU) is clearly a gifted crafter of stories. I was so drawn in to Isola's world that I felt I belonged there. The characters were real/imaginary/dead/water-dwelling/fairy-eating/Isola protectors and I adored them. This book will reign on my shelf of precious items. This book will not be lent to my friends (I'm so selfish). I will read and reread and await Allyse Near's next story.
review 2: This book is AMAZING!!! The book is numerous fairy tales with horror twists. Isola Wilde, the second Isola Wilde, has to live twice as long on behalf of her namesake who died at the age of nine. But when Isola finds a dead gi... morerl in the woods everything is about to change and her brother-princes can't do anything. Her brother-princes consist of two ghosts, one human, a mermaid, a fury and faerie. I fell in love with this book as soon as I saw it on the shelf. I have, what I believe is, a sixth sense about books. When I am looking for books to buy I usually get this awesome sensation when I see a good book. This novel took a bit of getting used to as the way it was written was very unique. The sentences didn’t make sense until information was revealed later on in the book and I had to read sentences several times to completely comprehend their information. Contrary to everything said, this book was a very good read and remains on my favourites list. It gets better with every read and I will never get enough of it. less
