Keke Palmer Reps ‘Ghana Must Go’ Bag; Read About Her Fashion Move & Where The Name Comes From

Hollywood star, Keke Palmer hit the streets of London, carrying a huge Ghana Must Go bag ….The actress was obviously making a fashion statement as she captioned it Keke must go.

For those who don’t know, Keke Palmer is an American actress, singer, songwriter, presenter and television personality. After Palmer’s film debut, Palmer and her family moved to California to help her pursue a career in acting. Palmer released her debut album, So Uncool, on September 18, 2007 through Atlantic Records. The album failed to chart on the US Billboard 200 but did chart at number 85 on the R&B chart. The album was preceded by the second single “Keep It Movin’”.

With her selected caption, it seems the actress is fully aware of the original controversy surrounding the Ghana Must Go material. Which originated when Nigeria went through it’s Donald Trump era and decided to kick Ghanaians out of the country in 1983 because they believed they were taking the jobs….or something along those lines. About 1 million Ghanaian and some vast number of west African allies were forced out, and this material was the cheapest bags and must used to carry their goods out.(read more on it here)

Not too long ago Nigerian musician Mr Eazy also rocked a Ghana Must Go suit to promote his album ‘From Accra To Lagos’. It seems the Ghana Must Go fabric continuously pops up to make it’s way into the fashion scene with hints here and there, however it’s going to take the right designer/s to set off the trend.
