review 1: I had been waiting forever for this book to come out, and it happened to come out on my 5 year wedding anniversary! I couldn't put it down. Like all of Alyssa's books, this one didn't upset! The chemistry between Quinn and Alaric has been apparent since the first book, but it was so great to finally read their story! It was full of action and romance. There were a few new characters that helped the story going. I didn't feel bored once while reading. I kept wanting to find out what happened next! While the ending of the book moves pretty fast, it was still nice to have a wrap up of everything. It would have been nice to get some epilogue of each of the warriors, but I couldn't have asked for a better end to the series! This is a definite MUST READ! I just want to thank Aly... moressa for her fabulous work in writing these books!
review 2: This book felt like it was forever in the making. I must admit that I was kind of glad to have that bit of a snippet to remind me of what had previously happened- I had forgotten quite a bit! I guess I should have gone back and read the previous book.Should this be read as a standalone? No, I don't recommend it. You would be missing way too much of the backstory. And I think you need the backstory to truly appreciate Alaric and Quinn. With that being said, Alaric is probably my second favorite, if not favorite Atlantean (I am kind of partial to Ven!). I like the super-protective guy that he is, even if he went a lil crazy during the book. I won't spoil it and say how. But yeah, he went a lil crazy, but I'll give him the fact that he's not been treated like a man for how many hundred years? I felt sorry for him. He might have been a high priest, but dang, that was a lot to give up.Anyways, I would recommend reading this book if you've read the others. I'm pretty sure you might like Alaric and it's always nice to bring back characters from the past! less
