review 1: This begins with Holly going into labour knowing she will not come back. The book then works back to what happens and why. The book has elements of magic in it through the moondial and is centrally about how much would a mother sacrifice for her child. Echoed with this story is Jocelyn's, Holly's friend which also holds a nice sentiment. This is a joy to read and immensely enjoyable although tinged with sadness as well. The characters are all well written and it is a pleasure to immerse yourself in their lives. I would thoroughly recommend this as an excellent read.
review 2: I thought this novel was humble and sweet. Many of its aspects borderline on surrealism but is characters were full of depth and richness. From the first description you find yourself im
... moremersed and quickly attached to the emotional rollercoaster that they go through. What I find unique about this novel was that throughout the novels that I've read that dealt with children, the main character Holly isn't fond of having one. However, it's the emotional changes and self-evolution that she personally goes through, and the unexpected twists that accompany this plot that captivates you. This novel was a wonderful little read. less
