An Embroidery Mystery
review 1: This was a pleasant diversion of the mystery genre. It is part of the embroidery mystery by Amanda Lee. I like books which iniates me into different worls and interests--in this case, embroidery--which I would never do but found fascinating nonetheless. I only wish there were pictures of the embroideries described. Marcy owns a shop--all things relating to embroidery and she is engaged by a bridezilla (knew I'd like the book right there ;>) to embroider her wedding gown as well as add some jewels. Marcy had her heart broken a year ago by her then fiance, who of course shows up in town to rekindle the romance. Marcy, again, of course, has a couple of new guys who are interested in her. For the life of me, I could not understand why she would consider for even ONE second get... moreting back together with her loser fiance! But anyhoo, I might read another one sometime when I am looking for a pleasant little getaway.
review 2: Hmmmm, I still can't figure out why I keep reading these. I like the embroidery shop back drop, I like some of the secondary characters (the main character I find either a bit flaky or really a bit to... Unthinking. OK, it's a novel, but I think in order to really like a book, one needs to connect to the characters. I can't relate to Marcy much at all, beyond the embroidery and needlework enthusiasm. But they easy reading. less

I like Marcy, and her dog Angus. The story had a couple of turns and some surprises.

The detailing of the clothing repair bored me to tears. On to the next book.
