An Embroidery Mystery
review 1: Amanda Lee's embroidery mysteries are definitely a cozy series. In this one, Marcy, the main character decides on her love interest and it is Ted, a police detective on the Talulah Falls' police force. This story is about an embroidered tapestry that an elderly man shows her, telling her that his great grandmother made it and that it shows where a ship sank with a treasure of pearls. The elderly man is found murdered. As the investigation unfolds, the question is that is the treasure map tapestry the real reason the man was murdered. An easy read.
review 2: This is one of those books I can finish in a few hours. I did not read any previous books in this series. The main character Marcy owns an Embroidery Shop in a small town. She also just happens to help solve
... more some murders. Through a friend she agrees to teach a small group of abused females how to embroider. One of the women has a father-in-law with an old tapestry that he wants Marcy to look at. He claims it’s real and very old and is a treasure map. While Marcy has the tapestry, the old man is killed. So starts the story—who killed the old man and why; plus was the tapestry really a treasure map. The characters are interesting and the writing is good. The plot follows the usual cozy murder/romance mysteries write up. It was a nice read. less
