STAT: Standing Tall and Talented
review 1: This book is about NBA star Amar'e Stoudemire. This book is about Amar'e having fun with his friends playing baseball, skateboarding, and playing basketball. The group of friends run into some trouble. There are some 8th grade bullies from out of town trashing there basketball court. The friends play the bullies 3 times. The first time the boys played the bullies the bullies were playing dirty. The same thing happens the second time. The friends have lost 2 times. In the last game Amar'e wins. I recommend this book to sports lovers.
review 2: A new sports series by NBA star Amar'e Stoudemire, STAT provides a warm, nostalgic glimpse into the childhood of the basketball star who wanted to be a skateboarder growing up. This first book introduces us to young Amar'e
... more and his friends who defend their neighborhood against some bullies. We also meet Amar'e father who gave him the nickname STAT (Standing Tall and Talented). The book gives a strong message of standing up and doing the right thing, defending the weak, working hard, and caring for family. The story lines may not be remarkable, but STAT is a solid newcomer to this genre. less
